La Guinness è una famosa birra di tipo stout o di tipo porter, si presenta scura, quasi nera. Nonostante ciò la sua colorazione è in realtà ufficialmente nota come “Rubino Scuro“. La schiuma è chiara o bianca, molto compatta. Il gusto è decisamente amarognolo, poco corposo e facilmente riconoscibile.
